Claire Ellis, 2023
3-part plaster mold of a container vessel.

Claire supplied a ceramic container, to a make a vertical 2-part mold. After multiple attempts we discovered that a 3-part mold is a more practical method to casting this shape to allow a clean pull of the container gallery.

December Drop, 2022
Limited Edition Wavy, Coffee & Espresso Cups.

A collection of cups made using coloured clay, playing with the themes of sensory nostalgia. Ranging from extruded fish in a fish pond and sprinkles on fairy bread, there were only a limited quantity made.

White procelain dildo's made for an underglaze workshop.

A 2-part mold was made from a purchased dildo, and used to create clay replicas ready for bisque firing, and to be underglazed in workshop offered at Handmaker's Factory.

Limited Edition Wavy Cups

A collection of wavy cups made using coloured clay, pushing the slip casting technique to it's limits. Creating pieces that reflect our environment with realistic depiction of a punnet of cherries, your childhood lava lamp and the silvery reflection on moving water.

White porcelain bisque pieces of discs with an extruded texture, resembling a landscape.

Large sculptural wall pieces made of white porcelain with the intent of being glazed and exhibited by the client. A digital model was made from a vector file, and 3D print was created to be turned into a 1-part mold for casting.

2-Part plaster mold of a sphere vase.
Bobby supplied a glass sphere vase, to make a 2-part mold. The mold has a horizontal part line for ease in demoulding.

For My Planties, 2021
Plaster molds for their small and large planter design.

Steff's planters designs come with a foot design, that was slightly altered for easier casting. The small planter was made as a 1-part mold and the large as a 2-part mold for easier demoulding.

Handmaker's Factory, 2021
Blue and Orange porcelain clay candle bowls, made with a indented flame decal.

The Brief: to design a vessel that held 200ml of soy wax, sat no higher than 70mm, would withstand the heat & could be reused by the consumer.

The outcome; A 5mm thick bowl shaped dishes with an indented flame decal around the base. Unglazed exterior to showcase the natural candle wax & clay material. Orange & blue coloured clay to create a vibrant contrast that would be a centre piece for someones home.

Collection of plaster molds for their small and large candelabra, vase, tumbler and express cup design.
Kathleen handbuilt all their pieces, and wished to move into the slip casting practice. Their designs were taken through the digital modelling and 3D printing process to prepare them for mold making.
